Solution
Let the present age of $B$ be $x$ years.
Then present age of $A$ is:
$2x$
Five years ago,
Age of $A=2x-5$
Age of $B=x-5$
According to the question:
$2x-5=3(x-5)$
$2x-5=3x-15$
$3x-2x=15-5$
$x=10$
So, present age of $A$ is:
$2x=2(10)=20$
