Solution

Let's assume Shiva's monthly salary as "S."
According to the given information, Shiva gave 40% of his salary to his mother. So, the amount he gave to his mother is (40/100) * S = 0.4S.
From the remaining amount, Shiva used 7% for electronic gadgets and 23% for his monthly expenses. Therefore, the amount used for electronic gadgets is (7/100) * (S - 0.4S) = 0.07 * (0.6S) = 0.042S, and the amount kept aside for monthly expenses is (23/100) * (S - 0.4S) = 0.23 * (0.6S) = 0.138S.
The remaining amount that Shiva transferred to his friend's account is the difference between his salary and the amounts given to his mother, used for electronic gadgets, and kept aside for monthly expenses:
Remaining amount = S - (0.4S + 0.042S + 0.138S)
= S - 0.58S
= 0.42S
According to the problem, the sum of the amount given to his mother and transferred to his friend's account is 41000:
0.4S + 0.42S = 41000
0.82S = 41000
S = 41000 / 0.82
S ≈ 50000
Therefore, Shiva's monthly salary is approximately 50000.
